Yes and No are toggle buttons. On Ashby a Yes or No answer is a pair of buttons, and clicking the active one clears it. The form also saves on every change. So the agent never clicks an option that is already active, sends a real click, and reads the state back before trying again.
Dropdowns are read before they are used. A combobox is opened and its options read first. A question only reaches the on-device model with those options, and the model picks a number from the list. A search list, where the model would have to write a query, is left for you.
Essays. A drafted essay is checked against the narrative rules, and gets one corrective retry. If it is still rejected or empty it stays blank for you to write. The agent does not paste a template.
Relocation and office questions. A question about a named office or city can be answered Yes by default for relocation. That answer is flagged for your review once it is selected.
Required field errors. If Ashby reports "Missing entry for required field" for a button that looks set, the agent repairs it by clearing and setting the option again, spaced so the first save lands first.
